Case Strength
What Makes a Strong CCJ Case?
Not all CCJs are equal. These are the three strongest grounds courts recognise for set-aside.
Non-Service
The claim form was never served to your current address. Courts take non-service very seriously — it is the most common and powerful ground for set-aside.
Already Paid
The debt was settled before judgment was issued. The claimant had no right to proceed, and the CCJ should never have been registered.
Procedural Error
Mistakes in the claim process — wrong court, incorrect form, improper service method — can provide grounds for set-aside.

FAQs
CCJ Questions Answered
A County Court Judgement is a court order requiring you to repay a debt. It appears on your credit file for 6 years and prevents mortgages, loans, credit cards, rental agreements, and some employment. It is also enforced via bailiffs and wage deductions.
Setting aside a CCJ means applying to the court to cancel the judgement entirely — usually because you were not properly served, the debt was disputed, or there was a procedural error. A successful set aside removes it from your credit file completely.
The strongest is non-service — you never received the original claim. Also strong: the debt was already paid, there was a valid defence never heard, or procedural errors in how the claim was processed.
No. We prepare all court documents for you to submit as a Litigant in Person. You present these yourself in court — we provide full guidance notes and structured arguments for the N244 application.
After 6 years the CCJ drops off automatically. If within 6 years, we can apply for set aside. If the underlying debt is statute barred, this is also a ground for challenge.
Yes. If we are unable to achieve a set aside after exhausting all reasonable avenues, you receive a refund of your fees minus a £99 administration fee, subject to our Terms & Conditions, including full cooperation and the 14-day claim window.
